Summer Fun

This summer has flown by and there's just one more week left before school starts back for the biggies!  Here's some pics of random events during the summer since my phone/computer seemed to shuffle all my pictures up and I can't find them all in the right order that I want them.

Happy 4th!  We went to the parade in Volcano which Evie nicknamed the "doggie parade" since so many people walk with their dogs in the parade.

That night we met the Lindsey family at Liliuokalani Park and had a very impromptu picnic dinner and just watched the fireworks over the ocean.

These little girls love to get into all sorts of trouble together.  And it happens so quickly with 2 of them!

Day at the beach!  We joined Aunty Carrie and her boys at Richardson's Beach one day.  Since we rarely get to the beach as a family the kids had a blast playing in the sand!

The twinners!

We had a surprise visit from cousin Kai-kai from New Jersey!  It was short but sweet and the big kids loved playing with him.

For some reason this is the only picture I can find but Evie broke her arm this summer :( The shower curtain rod fell on her hand and hit the edge of the tub.  So random!  She ended up with a cute little purple cast a few days later.  I'll keep looking for those pics.

Getting into more trouble at urgent care one afternoon. They're sitting in the back of the exam table for a patient.

A trip to the zoo!  We've actually went there quite a bit this summer.  More than we have in a long time!

The Yamada's came to visit from Maui for a soccer tournament!  The last time they were here was when Esme was diagnosed with Kawasaki's.  This trip was much less eventful of course!  We got to hang out, play and catch up!

The kids had fun scooping fish at the park.

Chan had fun being goofy at the soccer tournament.

Happy Father's Day

I forgot to post pics of Father's Day.  We spent it at a Mariner's vs Red Sox game during our trip.  It was a sold out game so people galore!  The crowds were more than we're used to but we still had fun.  Our seats were high up and in the shade thankfully.  The kids stayed interested for about 3 innings and then started to get bored.  We didn't want to torture them, or us, so we left early which was actually nice.  No long lines of people trying to get out at the same time.

The drive up to the Link Light Rail.

Riding the rail into the stadium.

Outside the stadium

We got to walk the field before the game.

Thanks Aunty LeAnne for the stickers!

Vacation Pics Part II

Here's more vacay pics in no particular order:

We had a party at the Patoc's and ALL the kids loved the sandbox!

They also loved the bounce house too

We finally got to see cousin Tabby!  We'd played with cousins Shyla and Vivi earlier in the week.

These were all the kids at the party.  Wowzers!  Fifteen in total!

Of course the fire pit with marshmallows was a hit.

We had a surprise visit from the Southern Shih's who just happened to be house hunting in Seattle that weekend.  The kids got to meet cousins Ollie and Teddy.

That night Chan had his first non-family sleepover at the Mitchell's.  Obviously it helped that his sister was there too.

Aunty Marina and mommy took Esme and Addy to tea time at the Secret Garden Tea House.  The girls had so much fun.

They loved all the little cups and silverware and food.

Besties!

When we got to Portland we met up with cousins Ali and baby Rivka.  Both kids adored her!  They forgot that Poppy and Eve were that little just awhile ago.

They loved the parks in the PNW.  This one was pretty cool - Spring Garden Park in Portland.

There was this nest at the park built out of bamboo.

Esme used to love the Portland Children's Museum when we visited Portland and she still loves it today.  The kids played here for hours!

Amazingly Esme played longer in this construction/engineering section than Chan did.

Goofing around.

Chan really loved the vet center.  He played here for a long time by himself.

We also visited Olivia, Aunty Kathy and Uncle Veris in their new Portland house.  The kids loved seeing all our Hawaii friends in their mainland houses.

And of course on our way to the airport we made one last stop to see baby Rivka!

Summer Vacation to Washington

Oh boy, where to start!  We had an awesome vacation to the Pacific Northwest in the month of June.  We spent 12 days between Oregon and Washington and got to see all of our old friends and visit all sorts of places.  Esme connected with many of her old friends (who are all daughters of mommy's good friends) and Chan was busy making memories of all these people and things that he didn't remember at all from when we lived there.  We moved from WA when he was just 1 and Esme was 3.

The twins stayed home with Nana and Papa and did amazingly well without us.  We had just transitioned them to toddler beds and we were worried their sleep routine would get all wonky but it ended up alright.  They took a few nights to adjust to the new sleep routine at Nana's but then they were great after that.  And they just fell back into their old routine when we returned home.  It was cute cause they were so amazed at all their old toys and stuff in our house, like it was brand new to them again.

I'll start with some of the pics but will have to follow up with another post since there's so many!  I just finished a photobook too so the kids can remember all of our adventures!

Molly Moons ice cream was a request from Esme.  She remembers it mostly from a t-shirt that she has from there.

I always wanted to go to the Museum of Flight and we finally made it.  Best part was that the kids could just run around in the open space.

Lots of berry fingers since they were all in season and so cheap!

Dinner with Natalie and Jordyn!  They were just in Hawaii in April so it was nice to connect again so soon.

Watching the boats at the Ballard Boat Locks.  Luckily it's fast enough to see the whole process so it kept Chan interested.

The kids learned what the sound of the ice cream truck means for the first time :)

Playing ball and flying kites at Gas Works Park in Seattle with cousins Shyla and Vivienne

Family photo with the cousins!

More goofing around at the Locks.

Chan loved feeding the fish at the Patoc's.  He wanted to do it every morning.  Might be time to get him some fish...

We were so lucky we got to visit Uncle Cody's fire station!  The kids got a tour of the whole place and were even able to suit up!

Fireman Chan

Esme could barely carry the oxygen pack.

We made a quick to stop to see Ms Faye who was Esme and Chan's first Mandarin teacher.  We miss her so much!
