Where Has Summer Gone???

And just like that, the summer is over and the school year has started.  Yikes!  It goes extra fast here since we're on a modified year round schedule but still. All in all the kids enjoyed the change in routine and summer activities - mainly those that involved play time with all their cousins from near and far.  But now everyone has gone home until next time.

Esme enjoyed a sort of last minute trip to Seattle for 17 nights to stay with family friends.  She was super excited to go on the solo trip and one of the main reasons is because we told her we'd get her a phone to contact us.  Ha ha!  She also sent us lots of pics and kept in contact with many other people too.  That girl is so social!

Bye Mimi!  She travelled there with a family friend but unaccompanied on the way home

She's always been so fashionable!

We missed our big girl so much!

When she walked off the plane she was talking on her phone with her earbuds in and barely noticed me.  Hey you!

Chan, Poppy and Eve and some of her cousins came to welcome her home

Chan missed her sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much!  He said "It's great to have Mimi back so we can all be together again."  He wanted to sit right next to her on the car ride home which is something they NEVER do or they fight.

And Mimi was right back to big sister duties the very next day.  Mommy's little helper

Peek-a-boo, I see Poppy!

The twins participated in their first bon dance at the Kurtistown Hongwanji and they LOVED it.  They kept wanting to dance some more

Grade 1 and grade 3

Chan doesn't like change and so he was bawling when I dropped him off.  This was taken just 5 minutes after I left.  That boy!

Esme's enjoying her class too

More peek-a-boo Pops

This is Eve, 5 minutes before we're loading the car and leaving for school.  No school clothes on, no brushed teeth, no socks, nothing.  Just a princess dress, a book and house slippers.

Peek-a-boo daddy!

Eve getting her annual eye exam for her "funny eye."  We had to patch her eye for a few days until the specialist told us not to anymore.  We go back in December for a follow up.
