Keeping Busy During The Coronacation

Well we're currently on spring break for 1 week but it keeps getting extended.  First one more week and then another week. So as of now the kids won't go back to school until the beginning of April.  And we still haven't made a plan for how we're going to make this all work.  So far the twins still have preschool but even that could change.  Allen's working all online but I have to be back at work next week so things will start to get interesting.  I'm working on a schedule of activities to keep them busy and out of daddy's hair while he's trying to work.  In the meantime here's some pics...

February Celebrations

Eeek, to continue or not continue this blog?  That is the question.  I keep forgetting about it!

February came and went with Valentine's and Esme's birthday back to back.  Esme always gets excited about celebrating V-Day at school first and then her birthday the next day. Since her birthday fell on a Saturday this year she opted for a mall date with a few girlfriends.  They hit up Claire's, then pedicures, then lunch and then PetSmart :)  It's her last year in the single digits.  Eek!

Happy 9th to Mimi!!!

Chan has been enjoying coach pitch, especially when he can suit up for the catcher position

And we also had our San Francisco cousins visit on Esme's birthday!  We had so much fun exploring parts of our island with them over the long President's Day weekend.

Family Fun Days

Here we are at the beginning of another month!  The kids are all back into routine with school and activities.  And pretty soon the busy season starts again with weekend activities for Esme and Chan.  We're not sure how we're going to do it once the twins start having their own activities and games on the weekends.  Yikes!  When we get the time now we try to enjoy a lot of family time on the weekends to make up for the busy ones ahead.

We missed our beach time in Kona on New Years Day so we snuck over on MLK weekend

The kids love digging pools and then racing to the water to fill up their cups

We took an adventure to Akaka Falls one day and they all enjoyed the nice walk through the forest

Nearby we discovered a goat dairy and Chan surprised us by being so comfortable with the goats

As you can see the girls were not so comfortable

The kids are all turning into such great readers.  We're thinking Eve is ready to start reading but it might be a little longer for Poppy.

Nana went to all the effort to cut regular sized carrots instead of using baby carrots for dinner.  And for some strange reason Eve thought they were the perfect size for this trick.

My little rascal

It's been chilly lately and they've all been enjoying their sleepers

We took the kids bowling at Kilauea Military Camp and the twins were really just excited about their new shoes.  Ha ha!  They just kept dancing and sliding all over the floor in them.

Happy 2020!

We survived another great holiday season!  It was short and sweet this year and could have celebrated longer but oh well.  We can't complain!  The biggies woke up early on Christmas morning to check out their Santa gifts and stockings.  I made sure they let the twins sleep in since they didn't really know what to expect anyways.  Luckily that tided them all over until we ate breakfast and then sat down to presents.  Somehow the twins discovered some old toys in the carport so they played there for about an hour and the biggies got started first.  It was just easier that way ;)  At the end of the day everyone was super happy.  Santa brought Esme a new desk and booties.  She spends so much time at her big girl desk now and loves wearing her booties.  Chan got all sorts of balls and a basketball hoop which help to get out all his energy!  And the twins for the sparkly car and pink comb they asked for.  It was a good day!

Christmas pj's!  Seems like Esme is now the harder one to get to smile when it comes to family pics?!?!  This isn't the first time this has happened.  It used to be the twins though...

We started with some sparklers early on NYE

The we did a little fireworks show in our driveway once it got dark.  Our neighborhood was full of fireworks!

The twins really got into it this year

We usually go to the beach in Kona on New Years Day but high surf closed a lot of the beaches on that side of the island so we stayed on the east side instead this year.
