May Day is Lei Day

When our stay at home orders went into place in mid March and were to extend through the end of April, I thought the month was going to drag on.  But somehow April just flew right by!  And since we don't have any school to go to or sports to play we have a lot of time to explore the neighborhood and create our own adventures with the kiddos.   Allen continues to stay home with the kids but that'll change in May since he recently got a new job at the hospital.  And Nana helps out by watching the twins twice a week.  Of all the kids they're probably having the hardest time with the change in their normal routines.  All in all though we're all doing good.  It's nice to get back to the basics and focus on family :)

And now our stay at home orders are extended again through the end of May.  So many more projects and adventures ahead!

Walking the neighborhood in the rain.

Playing "train" in the carport

Bucket fun in the back yard

Musical buckets in the heat

Everyone is enjoying a lot of reading.  We really miss the library but thankfully we already had a lot of books.

Esme just finished her entire Beverly Cleary series

Easter was small but still fun :)

Eve was so interested in the candy eggs

We were so lucky to be able to spend the day at our friends backyard beach.  The kids were so excited to leave the house that it was like we were going on a trip to Disneyland.

They had so much fun playing in the water and sand

And the boba treat afterwards was also a hit

Chan is getting really good at playing with all the girls toys.  He's playing My Little Pony here.

Happy 4's To Poppy & Eve!!!

It was a different birthday during the COVID19 pandemic but we still managed to have a fun day with our little 4 year old twins :)  The girls were super excited regardless and still had lots of fun.

One of their favorite gifts were the ballooon bouquets (in their favorite colors) from Uncle Sterling.  They brought so much joy!

We had lava cakes but weren't sure that the candles would stand up in them so we ended up putting candles in lemon bars just for the singing.  No one complained :)

Happy Girls!

Mmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!

And now to switch gears.  The twins preschool finally closed for the month of April so it's been all home, all day.  Amazingly the kids are learning to play together much better than before.  I think because they know they have no other friends or activities to rely on.

We're enjoying writing letters and receiving mail from friends and family.

The kids barely ride in the car anymore so they love to greet mommy when she comes home.

They all received packets of work to do while out of school.

Being creative during lunch time.  They built a big tent out of umbrellas to avoid the sun.

Then the girls convinced Chan to join their dress up/singing group.  Ha ha!  He must really be bored!

He even did the photo shoot after.

The barber is non-essential so Chan's hair is getting pretty long. He put all sorts of sprouts in it and said "hey look, I have coronavirus hair."

We got 2 care packages from friends this past weekend.  It was nice to have new activities to pass the time.

Making bracelets from Maui!

And doing science projects too!

Keeping Busy During The Coronacation

Well we're currently on spring break for 1 week but it keeps getting extended.  First one more week and then another week. So as of now the kids won't go back to school until the beginning of April.  And we still haven't made a plan for how we're going to make this all work.  So far the twins still have preschool but even that could change.  Allen's working all online but I have to be back at work next week so things will start to get interesting.  I'm working on a schedule of activities to keep them busy and out of daddy's hair while he's trying to work.  In the meantime here's some pics...
