From Sunshine to Rain :(

We just got back from sunny Austin, TX where we spent our first ever real family vacation. This trip was not centered around visiting my family, Allen's family or a wedding/event which is pretty impressive. And we had a great time thanks to Aunty Carrie, Uncle Nathan, and Seth who we stayed with in Austin. They made our trip so much easier by planning a family friendly visit and having their entire house prepared for our baby and toddler. We visited a lot of playgrounds, did a lot of drive-by sight seeing, ate some Tex-Mex and barbecue, and always made sure to get in our daily naps. This was important since the 90+ degree heat really tired everyone out! Esme was so excited to have a playmate in Seth and she learned all about boys and cars. Seth was even gracious enough to send her home with some of his extra cars for her to play with.

Chan was as relaxed as he usually is and smiled and "talked" to anyone who would play with him. We think he may have gotten some sort of bug while we were travelling because he's been pooping up a storm since halfway through our trip. He's usually an every 3-4 day pooper but for the past 5 days or so he's been going multiple times a day and it's pretty watery. Unfortunately that's also led to a pretty bad diaper rash. We're coating his little bum in Bactroban and Desitin when he's wearing his diapers and trying to let him have some diaper free time everyday so his skin can air out. He's not so fond of the blow dryer on his bum in the morning and after bath but it seems to be helping.
